Andalucia – Alhambra in Granada is the most visited monument

The magnificent Moorish fortress Alhambra (Al-Hamrat, the red castle, for its walls turning reddish at sunset) in Andalucia, with its unbeatable backdrop of snowy peaks of Sierra Nevada, remains the most visited monument in Spain and the main attraction of the city of Granada. Speaking in numbers, the monumental complex of the Alhambra in 2010 received 3.345.311visits, which represents an increase of 4.85% over the previous year.
